Hello, This is my first build ever and i am a newcomer, so help will be VERY appreciated:)
The items that i have right now:

CPU: i74790K
Mobo: Asrock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer
CPU fan: Hyper 212 Evo
Video Card: EVGA GTX 970 SC

I will be running single card, but the idea is to have a build that gives me option to allow to SLI at future time.
The only thing remaining is the case. From where I live, i only have a handful of options (at premium prices as well, hence careful selection is required):

1) $145 - CM STORM SCOUT 2 ADVANCED
2) $160 - COOLER MASTER 690 III CMS-693-KWN1 BLACK
3) $145 - COOLER MASTER HAF XB RC-902XB-KKN1 BLACK

I prefer a mid tower case for aesthetics, yet the technician was pushing me hard for the full towers at the shop stating that it is not recommended for SLI in a mid tower, unless i choose CM 690 III or the CM Master HAF as they have sufficient space.

I really lean towards CM storm scout 2 for its looks and as it is a strong seller on amazon, but the technician insisting it wont fit 970 SLI.
(690 iii is too plain, and I don't see it selling on amazon for some reason. CM HAF XB has a strange look i guess).
He also kept on insisting that 212 Evo won't handle my processor as it starts with 4.0Ghz and kept on insisting to take a 240m liquid cooling.

So my question is:

1) Would CM STORM SCOUT 2 ADVANCED be able to fit/do 970 SLI in future with no problems?
2) Which of the 3 cases would you prefer?
3) Is it true that i will face problems with 212 Evo for i74790K? (i wont be doing any overclocking on it for now)

PS: VERY sorry for the long post. but this means alot to me as it is my first build, and i don't want to ruin it with my final piece.

Your expertise will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Rafa

The technician was pulling a fast one on you and was trying to make a higher commission. There's no reason the storm scout 2 won't fit 970 sli. Many mid tower cases are suitable for sli unless each graphics card is too long for the case.

The EVO would work fine with the 4790k... should be able to get decent OC on it between 4.0 and 4.6 GHz (rough estimate).

3)the 212 will easily handle that 4790k . the 4790k actually has better thermal interface material than its predecessor, the 4770k.

I would also go with the CM STORM SCOUT 2 ADVANCED since the 690 is plain looking (personal opinion) and I really don't like the awkward look of the HAF series (again, personal opinion).

If you like the storm scout, go for it. Go for the case which has the features you need and the aesthetics you like.
