The title pretty much says it all. I can get to the control panel and everything but its not registering my graphics card. I tried to install my wireless network card drivers and my mobo drivers but it doesn't seem to change anything. Am I screwed because I can't reinstall windows 7 because its an oem drive?

Solution
Technically, the OEM license is tied to the mobo (and/or mobo/CPU combination) - so you may be required to purchase a new license. HOWEVER - if your motherboard dies, and the mobo/CPU is a replacement (due to malfunctioning hardware), Microsoft may allow the installation (you will probably have to do a phone activation of the system.

The only thing Windows won't do is show that the copy of Windows is activated (right click "my computer" and choose "properties" - at the bottom of the screen is Windows activation). It will either say that Windows is activated, or it will tell you how many days you have to activate Windows (typically you have 30 days to activate Windows).

It sounds like you have a driver issue - not an activation...

So theres a chance I could just download the drivers and not have to reboot the operating system? New keys are over $100 and I just spent my wad on a new cpu, mobo and cooling system.

So I just moved my gpu and network card to the next slot down and theyre both working fine. Does this mean the pcie slots are broken and I should rma the mobo? I heard somewhere that you just need to go into the bios and choose the first pcie slot as the default?

You may need to reinstall Windows to get everything working properly. When it asks you for the key - click "skip" for now (you have 30 days to active Windows). The default slot for the GPU should be the first slot (closes to CPU), but it can vary by mobo....can you post the mobo/cpu/GPU/RAM specs?
