Merry Christmas Everyone!

So I've been asking this questions a lot lately and I want to collect more thoughts before I buy anything.

I have Powercolor R9 280x with the following build:
CPU: Intel® G3258 3.2GHz LGA1150 Boxed Processor
MOBO: MSI Z97 PC Mate Socket LGA 1150 ATX Motherboard
Software: Windows 7 Professional Graphics:
PowerColor R9 280x
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
HDD: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 64MB Cache
SSD: Corsair Force LS Series CSSD-F240GBLS 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLCInternal Solid State Drive (SSD)
PSU: THERMTK PS-TPD-0750MPCGUS-1 R 80 PlusGold

And when I'm playing BF4 (high setting), during team death match of 34 players I get about 50 FPS and if I go into rooms with more people or larger map, I get about 30 FPS.

A lot of people pointed out it is due to my CPU with dual core. I have a friend who have R9 270x with the same CPU and he is getting steady 60 FPS on larger maps with high settings.

So I don't know if it is really my CPU's problem. I get really good and steady FPS when using MENTLE but I get this crash message when using MENTLE:

Do you guys have any solution to have high and steady FPS using DirectX11? Or solution to prevent MENTLE from crashing? Or do I really have to replace my CPU?

Thanks for reading this long/ boring thread. Hope I get a solid answer!

Upgrading to windows 8 over 7 did a with my i7 and gtx 670. The minimum and average fps went up on both by ~ 10fps. Windows 8 has Directx11.2, 7 is still on 11.1. I wouldn't have believed it until I saw it myself.

You should also have AA/AO off as these features kill FPS. Does your friend have windows8 I wouldn't be surprised if that's why he's getting better performance with the same processor and a slower GPU.
