My computer doesn't have internet access, but other devices do.

So my laptop has been connected to my network fine for at least a year, along with a desktop that's plugged in, but the other day I lost most internet access on those machines, although my other devices are fine. I can access some sites on and off on the machines that loose connections. The PCs are connected to the network all the while. I originally thought it was a DNS problem but after playing around with that, I've contacted my ISP and support for my router, its a netgear c3700. Neither one of them could identify a problem. I'm very confused on what the problem could be, I've tried everything I can think of, any help is much appreciated.

Most phones connected to the network have internet access, and it was a remote attempt, they have a guy coming out but I was hoping to be able to fix it myself as I'm with Comcast and they aren't fun to work with.

around here, comcast staff get shot on sight. almost everybody on my block has dishes or fios here...i live in comcast hq town, and they screw everybody, they renamed their internet service to xfinity to avoid getting their trucks damaged. any cable/internet service that charges a monthly fee for the batteries in the cable remote should be taken out and shot.

took 3 federal corruption probes to even get verizon to finish laying out fios for the city. turned out 3 of the city council members were major comcast stock holders and were blocking every attempt by anybody but comcast. 2 got arrested for taking bribes, other retired from public service.

verizon was the better service..on 9/11 when the towers went down..they were out there the same day to reconnect everybody even for other telco/isp service providers that use verizon lines.

comcast spent years in court to avoid being declared a telco even tho they offered tv, phone and internet services. they said they weren't a telco cause they didn't offer atm service lines. they rewrote the atm rules so that even internet is capable for atm service lines so comcast had to pay extra federal taxes now.

only time somebody on my block uses comcast, is if they're squatting in a house that isn't properly claimed yet and they got kicked off their other tv/internet service providers for lack of payment
