Hi there dear friends, first off Merry Xmas! I just bought 2 Samsung 840 EVO 1tb SSDs and I'm getting quite low sequential write and random read/write numbers. Updated to the latest firmware (first thing I did after unboxing), trim is ON, both ssds are on sata 6gb/s (gray ports), latest BIOS (2501), AHCI enbaled, OS optimization set to maximum performance, and latest amd sata controller driver (1.2.1.376).

Specs:
Asus M5A99FX Pro 2.0
AMD 8350 FX
Kingston Savage 32gb ram
OCZ Vertex 4 512gb - OS disk, 1st AMD 6gb/s port (grey)
840 EVO 1tb x2 - 2and and 3rd AMD 6gb/s ports (grey)
HDD 3TB storage disk - 1st ASMedia 6gb/s port (blue)
Windows 7 64bit

Btw, I get even worse performance if I switch to microsoft stock AHCI driver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I've seen many people getting random reads closer to advertised (90k~98k) and this actually makes a whole difference to me, as I work with audio and higher random reads = higher ammount of samples/voices I can stream in Native Instrument's Kontakt.

Anyone else care to chime in?

I do have a somewhat similiar configuration, but also similiar iops problems:

Asus M5A99FX Pro 2.0
AMD 8350 FX
Crucial 32gb ram
840 EVO 1tb @ SATA 6Gb/s

Windows 8.1

Also I looked at http://www.userbenchmark.com/ for our mainboard and most people with our Mainboard and the EVO seem have the same problem, although there are some who seem to have solved it somehow :-/
