why cant i run current games well?

Hi, i just got a GTX 970 (MSI) and it came with 2 free games, the crew and assassins creed unity and i checked the system requirements and i should be able to play the crew on ultra but i can only play it on high with 50-60 FPS, is that normal? And for assassins creed it hasn't installed yet but it is meant to be really buggy so i guess i cant play that well anyway.

My system:
i5 4670k
MSI GTX 970 OC
8GB vengeance ram

what do you mean compared to something i played before upgrading ?

well my last GPU was the msi gtx 760 and some game were capped but at 60 and i dont mind 60 but in the crew it lags out to about 20 on ultra then on high it goes up to 60 ish

ok i tried playing ACU but it crashed when i pressed new game but it hasn't finished installing yet, so that could be why, its on uplay btw and you can play game before they have finished installing
