is my case fan in the right socket

i added my fan cable to the socket but its a 3 pin and i added it to a 4 pin and the socket is called cha-fan1

You're fine. a 4pin socket can handle a 3pin cable without a problem.

The 4th pin out is for PWM features on a fan that support it. It wont harm anything if you use that port with a fan that doesn't have that option.

Some boards can control a 3 pin fan in 4 pin (PWM) socket, some not.
You can definitely plug the fan, but the speed might not be controlled (always running at full speed).
