Hi, i've currently got an AMD Radeon HD 6700 series graphics card but i'ts getting too old to play new games on high settings so I'm looking for a new one.
I've seen some cards like the AMD Radeon HD 7950 and the AMD Radeon HD 7870. Can anybody help me with this?
My PC specs are:

CPU
Intel Core i5 @ 2.90GHz 51 °C
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technologie
RAM
8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
MSI H77MA-G43 (MS-7756) (SOCKET 0) 28 °C
Graphics
SONY TV (1360x768@60Hz)
1024MBATI AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series (MSI) 41 °C
Storage
465GB Seagate ST500DM002-1BD142 ATA Device (SATA) 34 °C
931GB Western Digital WD Ext HDD 1021 USB Device (USB (SATA)) 36 °C
Optical Drives
DTSOFT Virtual CdRom Device
TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-222BB ATA Device

I'm willing to bigger my budget if it helps a lot, so GPU's that cost a bit more than 200 euros are also appreciated

Solution

In theory, 550W should be more than enough for a 970, but low quality, or generic power supplies are often overrated by the manufacturer. I would play it safe, and buy a PSU from a well respected brand, e.g. Corsair, EVGA, Seasonic, Antec etc. If you want to find reviews on a power supply, go to jonnyguru.com, he has by far the best psu reviews.

Does that mean that i can't use any of the cards matt1-0-1 suggested? =(If you can find an R9 290 going cheap on eBay, that would be your best option, but otherwise a 280X, or even a GTX 960 (when it comes out next year) is a good option.)

It's probably better to upgrade your PSU first. You don't want to risk breaking the components in your PC, because of a bad power supply.

Hey guys, i've seen the GTX970 from Nvidia (I know, it's above my budget) but if i would buy that card and have all the things in my pc the same and only switch my Radeon HD 6700 for the GTX970, would my current PSU be enough?
