Any way you can spend the $330 to get the GTX970? You should.

I also hope you saw the list of problems partpicker listed at the bottom of that build. Some are serious.

The R9 290 is by far the best choice at this price. Newegg has the PowerCooler PCS+ R9 290 for $280 after rebate with a $20 newegg gift card thrown in. This is arguably the second best R9 290 on the market, with great out of the box performance and very good temperatures. Just a monumental steal for $260.

If you don't like PowerCooler, the Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 is probably the third best R9 290 on the market and by far the coolest. You can get it for $280 after rebate.

The Vapor-X seems to have gone out of production; I guess the cooler is too expensive to produce now that the R9 290 has gone so far down in price (these went for $400 until October and went in the $600-$700 range for a while in early 2014). You can find it at amazon, but I don't think it's worth it at all at $330 after rebate when you can pick up GTX 970's for $330 without need for a rebate and with a free copy of Assassin's Creed Unity, Far Cry 4, or The Crew.

I ordered that 970 a couple of days ago, but honestly, if that PowerCooler PCS+ R9 290 was available for $260 at the time I would have taken that instead.
