Hello everyone. I just built a new pc yesterday...and everything works fine. I am just a little worried about the cpu fan noise. I might be overthinking but I am afraid it is too lound and something is wrong with it. The cpu is an i7 4790k.

Can you give me your opinions?
Here is a video I recorded with my phone: http://youtu.be/dwK_NT6puvM
I am taliking about such noise as the one made from the 9th to the 17th second.

Best wishes and a Merry Christmas to you all!

You are going to get more noise from faster fans. They are needed nowadays with the power processors have, and for overclocking. FYI, the right case helps with regards to 'noisy pc's' as well.

Okay so...I tried different things...and at least now I am convinced I am not retarded. The noise that bothers me goes away if I tilt the case on about 45 degree. what should I do..show I try and put the fan another way in? I mean..changing the current position? Will it have a negative impact if the thermal paste already melted on the cpu? I am waiting for pieces of advice.

Removing the cooler to reposition it will require the removal and reapplication of thermal paste. You will need to buy a new tube of thermal paste. Changing the position of which the stock cooler sits shouldn't affect performance. It sounds like you just have a bad fan bearing and a new cheap aftermarket cooler would solve your problems.

"Changing the position of which the stock cooler sits shouldn't affect performance"-buit it still means I should reapply the paste? even if is the same cooler and even if I just change the place of it?

Yes because when you remove the cooler the seal created from the thermal paste will be broken and will lead to temp. problems.

Thank you for your help so far! I hope you'll stick aroud so we can solve this problem. I have new evidences. Idk why...but while I was trying to tilt the case aroud...I accidentally put my chin on the front of the case (where the power button is...and the noise stopped. After that I saw that for example if I pushhed against it...it would stop even in normal position. Might this be the result of the cable management I did in the back of the case? I am not a pro at cable management at all. So until now..I know this...it's 100% relalted to the cpu fan...it has something to do with other things in my case...otherwise I do not understand why it would stop as soon as I push agains the front of the case.

Well, maybe there is a problem then, and you've found it! It sounds like you are just getting vibration/rattling that is shaking the case a little bit. Just need to seat that heatsink in more tight somehow, maybe a piece of cardboard in the right spot?
