How do i know that my motherboard is compatible with a graphic card?

Current Motherboard : MSI b75MA-E31
Current graphic card : GTX 760 2GB
I will probably upgrade my graphic card to run most of new games in 2015 with 60 or more fps in max quality.
which graphic card should i buy ?

you can use any card that will fit inside your case and your power supply can handle as of right now not knowing your power supply a GTX 970 would work fine.

yes, the 970 & 980 is the only real upgrade for you though the 760 is still a good card. The 960 is due next month and should be slightly better than a 770 (for comparison) if you can wait that long.
