Hello all,
I am very new to the PC world and brand new to this website. Forgive any Noob Mistakes!
I am trying to upgrade my factory Gateway SX2800-01
I wanted to upgrade from 2x2Gb RAM to 1x8Gb ram. After removing the old RAM and inserting the new RAM (trying all different slots) it will not boot. As soon as the PC is powered on it continuously beeps and will not show anything on the screen.
It shouldn't be too much memory for the MOBO handle, as specs on crucial.com state that I can do up to 8192Mb
I am trying to put in one stick of Patriot Viper 8GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz. My old RAM is Samsung DDR3 PC3-10600U.
Do I just have the wrong type of RAM?
