Isn't my ups enough for my current computer?(after changing graphics card)

I have a 1000VA ups and my computer is:

2 gb ddr2 memory
one 1 tb harddrive
one 500 gb harddrive
Intel Quad Core Q6600 2.4ghz cpu
Philips 19inches monitor(190P model)
2 dvd writers
600Watt psu
Nvidia GTX970 graphics card.

My problem is,before replacing my graphics card,my ups was enough for my pc and satellite receiver + dvd recorder. It was giving me about 5 minutes if I remember right, before it goes out of battery after the electricity is gone. .My previous graphics card was a Radeon 3870.

But now, with Nvidia GTX 970 ,even if I don't connect satellite receiver and dvd-recorder, my 1000VA ups(when it is fully charged) gives me maximum of 2 minutes 10 seconds(I tested it before Windows started,at f8 key menu).

I run a program which came with my ups and it shows that current load is:%35 and battery voltage is 27.4 V(it shows maximum V is 30 but mine looks 27.4 V even when it is fully charged) ,

Do you think is there a problem with my ups/ups's battery or is it normal?I don't understand why although it shows current load at %35 and still just gives me 2 minutes...

Also,if I buy a new 2000 VA ups, would it's battery give me more minutes (when the electricity is gone) than my current ups?How can I understand if a ups's battery can give me more minutes, is VA value of a ups enough for predicting that?_

Solution
You may want to buy a new battery for your current ups before buying a whole new ups, that may give you a couple more minutes of battery time, like all batteries they deteriorate over time.
Here's a quick write up of what VA is:

VA is not the unit of measurement you want to go by for a longer battery on time, how ever higher VA usually means (but not always) higher wattage which in turn should mean the ups should have a bigger battery.
You will want a ups with a bigger stronger battery if battery on time is important to you.

Why do you need the pc powered on for so long after a black out?
2 minutes should be more then enough time to save and shut down.
If the UPS doesn't output a pure sine wave you want the pc running off the battery for as little time as possible.

Thanks for your answer.

In my area there is problem with electricity.Often the electricty goes out. It happens like this:

Electricitiy goes out, then after about 15 seconds generator steps in generally. Then after about a few minutes electricity comes back(but not to home because generator is still running),but first generator is closed and electricity goes out for about 15 seconds again and then electricity comes back to our home.

Especially if it is raining, this can happen more than 10 times.I have to shutdown computer and standalone receiver in 2 minutes or less time and sometimes I have to do it more than 10 times. Ups battery gives me about 2 minutes when it is fully charged , but if blackout happens so often in the same day it's battery may give me decreasing time to shutdown, everytime.

But also sometimes when electricity goes out, generator doesn't step in because the cause of blackout is our home's fuse turning of itself . So I have to getup if I am sleeping, and quickly stop dvd recorder and maybe also I should shutdown the computer myself if the automatic shutdown fails.Or alternatively I should go out of home and turn on the fuse in less than 2 or less minutes.I don't want to race against time,so I thought I need a stronger ups...

Also my standalone dvd recorder is connected to ups,and it's very sensitive when it's recording something. My ups was defected a few years ago and I couldn't connect the standalone dvd recorder to ups. During that period, while it was recording, one time electricty went out and dvd recorder became defected. So if I fail to stop recording before ups shutdowns during blackout, the device may become defected again.

Current status of my ups problem: About two weeks ago I noticed that it's battery backup time got less and it started to give me just 10 seconds before ups got shutdown. So I thought battery doesn't hold charge. We took the ups to it's technical service, they replaced it with a new but standard battery and now it is working good.
