Hi so this'll be my first build and I don't really know what I'm doing
I've chosen these parts, but I'm not sure if i'm overkilling or limiting some of the components. (I'd only really be using it for gaming, and I'm not too keen on overclocking)

CPU: Intel core i5-4460
GPU: Asus Radeon R9 270x 2GB
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL8D-8GB Xm (2x4GB)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO series 120GB SSD + WD Blue 1 TB WD10EZEX
Heat Sink: CoolerMaster Hyper 212x CPU Cooler
Power Supply: CoolerMaster V550S 80+ Gold 550 Power Supply
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Chassis Black

I'll also be using a Wi-fi PCI-e card (LAN isn't really an option and where my PC will be is quite far from the router) and I'll be getting a optical drive and currently am deliberating whether bluray is worth it.

I would appreciate some advice on how to improve the build, in terms of cost-effectiveness or maybe getting some more appropriate lower spec components. Thanks guys! :)

The stock cpu fan should be fine unless your overclocking which your not so you could save a few bucks on the fan. always get a good psu, you won't have to upgrade it and when crappy ones break they like to take other parts with them. The rest of the build is good but you might want to get a better gpu if you have the money. Amd processors are cheaper but intel works better in most games(not all).
