Two setups - a sit-down-by-your-desk one and a stand-up one

Hello all,

I have a three monitors sit-down-by-your-desk development setup.

For health reasons I want to do some of my work standing up, so I want to add a wall mount setup (maybe something like this). I was thinking about a four monitors setup (as I assume working standing up is more "coarse")

The important factor is "seamlessness" - I want be able to switch between to two modes of working: Work on something, get up, go to the stand-up set-up and continue working without a "context switch".

So, what's your take?

Avi

Thanks, that's a great answer. However, AFAIU their product is not yet shipping, still experimental, and they don't have a product for the international market (I live in Israel).

Moreover, I suspect that having two environments - sitting and standing - might be better than having one environment that changes between standing and sitting.

I actually own one. It took approximately three weeks to get to my door after ordering. The ability to swiftly switch between sitting and standing is nice, and I don't have the option for a second place for a upright station in my office.

I didn't realize you were in Israel. I'm not sure how solid their international shipping is, but you could always call or email with an injury.

It is a solid product. I opted for the memory settings, but not the installed power strip (I just placed one of the many I own in the large cable management tray. I was impressed at how solid the desk was. I can raise it to stand up and work on a system without having to bend over, and I can lower it to sit back down. The laminate top is large enough for a large anti-static work mat to the side while I have my monitor and keyboard to the other side.

Since the standdesk kickstater, other transitional desks have released, but I'm not sure how they compare to this product. I think Ikea is about to release a similar concept.
