I installed my cpu yesterday and at that same time not realising that this would mess things up i took that cooler off it only to find thermal paste on the cpu. I was reading that if i do this i will have too replace the thermal paste. But i dont know if i should as i havnt powered on the system at all. Will i have to replace the thermal paste or can i leave it because i havent powered it on. the cooler is on the cpu just now as i just put it back on. I am using the stock cooler and my cpu is AMD A10 7580k

Solution
as long as the cpu is off and the paste is still cold. it has not set yet and should be fine. the air bubbles most times happen when you over paste. after a few days of running when the paste cures from heat then you have to change it if you pull the cpu off. with any rig after a few days check the temps...idle and running if there high 40-50c check to see that the cpu cooler on right.

You should definitely replace it, once the thermal paste spreads and you take it off and put it back on there will be lots of air bubbles trapped between the chip and cooler. You can run the computer with the old thermal paste in place, but your temps will start out a little higher than they could be. Over time the air bubbles that were trapped in the paste will expand and eventually push the paste out from between the heat sink and processor causing the paste to pile up in some places and leaving air gaps in others. Your temps will begin to rise very quickly after a few months to a few years.

i have just got the mobo in a anti satic bag so no dust get into it but as soon as i can get some thermal paste and isopropyl alcohol i will wash off the old thermal paste and put some more on? I have left the cooler on untill i can get the stuff to reapply the thermal paste. Is that ok

Yeah that's fine.
