According to your situation, problem may be occurring because of following reasons.
1- Faulty RAM
2- RAM not installed properly
3- New RAM is added in slot but not matching with motherboard

Also try to take out RAM and GPU and again put each of them in their slots.

I have removed and placed gpu back in when i removed my other harddrives

Could be faulty RAM, Current RAM has been running in there since may, what is the best way to test ram to see if its faulty? i have 4x8gb sticks, just try boot PC with each one separately?

Yes, try boot PC with each one separately. So that it should be clear that Rams are faulty or not. It also cause because of software or updates. If your pc is not running in safe mode. Try to install fresh windows.
