I got my daughter a game CD-ROM she used to love 15 years back. But of course I didn't think about the OS - the CD is win 95. Is there any chance of playing it on Win 7 or even a MAC? If not, any suggestions where I can get a laptop that can play it? And would it play on WIN 98?

Most likely a 16 bit application.

Try right clicking the application icon (not a short cut) and going to properties. Set "run as administrator", then Try to run the program in compatibility mode for windows 95 or windows 98.
If that doesn't work (most likely not going to)... you will have to download windows XP mode and install things like glide wrappers and other emulators.

Or DOSbox as USAF mentioned

A title from that era undoubtedly contains 16-bit code and will not run (even in compatibility mode) on a 64-bit OS. If you were fortunate enough to find a still running PC with Windows 98 on it then yes, it would run.

You have a couple of choices:

A: You could install a VM (VirtualBox, VMWare, etc.) and then install Windows XP in the virtual world. You would then install and run the game in the VM.
B: You could build an XP box solely for running older games.
