Firstly, if you will have $300 more for upgrades, get an $800 or so pc instead in a few months. I would look more into the Newegg PC combos as they show you the actual prices and what you are getting. iBuyPower and the likes are just interested in saying it is a good deal when it isn't. As a side note (not trying to insult or anything) building a pc is very easy. You can get the best value possible and maintain upgradability. There are also many great YouTube videos that can show you how and you have us to help you as well. Otherwise, I would get a newegg $800 PC. This one is not very easy to upgrade, either. If you don't have that money now, that PC would be fine, but prepare to upgrade more than just the GPU.

You're the reason people stay away from PC gaming. There's always people like you in the Youtube comments or forums telling every one to "Build a PC with an i7 and atleast 16 gigabytes of RAM!".
You're not even sure if this guy will even like PC and you're already telling him to invest $800 on a computer.
This guy just wants to play Minecraft, Unturned, Garry's mod and Rust and you don't need an $800 PC to run them

No, you don't need a big PC to run those. But the OP is wanting to upgrade in a few months. That thing from Newegg will frustrate him in the upgrade process.

He could build for ~$500, and have a much better platform for future upgrades.

if you can afford the extra $20 for this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227594 it is a much better buy. already has 8 gb ram, slightly better gpu and a z97 mobo which allows for much better upgrade to the cpu later on.

if you got to go prebuilt, this one is pretty good. your $300 later on will get you a new gpu/psu and a better cpu if the prices are right. the pentium still games pretty well except for heavily threaded games such as far cry 4. a quick switch to an i5 when you upgrade will be a big difference along with a new gpu. this is a good base to start with on your slow upgrade path. better than the fx system for upgrading.

this is a much better buy than the one you're looking at

Never said you need anything like that. Highly against that. Notice I don't even have 16 GB. I only have an i7 because I do video editing and the MicroCenter near me had an amazing deal. I am just saying that if he is planning to upgrade in the future, he should probably start with maybe a little bit of a larger PSU, like 550W if he wants some good security. A $500 PC would do just fine, but I am not sure how an R5 230 would do for you. Very weak card. If you want to build it now, I would, instead of an R5 230, get a good PSU, maybe an i5-4440 or 4570 and use the integrated graphics until you decide you are ready for a new GPU. The R5 will just be a pain, and probably not much better than an i5's iGPU.
