Hi Toms community! I'm making a new gaming build and need some opinions from you guys!

I am either going to purchase an MATX Z97 board and a Pentium G3258 and upgrade to a Broadwell "K" series i5 in the future, or an MATX H97 board with an i5-4460 and not get Broadwell in the future. Which option do you guys think is better and why?

P.S. - Will be pairing it with an R9 290X

Thanks in advanced and happy holidays Toms!

But the thing is, I have a very limited budget so I likely won't get Broadwell if I get an i5 now. I'd rather pay more in the long run by going with the G3258 for now (Also saves me around $120 ATM).

If it helps, I will mostly be playing Action-Adventure, FPS, and RPG games

go ahead with the g3258, but remember some modern games such as far cry 4 will not run on dual cores and you will need to overclock an insane amount to not bottleneck a 290x
