Hi, I got a HP DC7700 SFF to connect to my TV mainly for Netflix but also for BBC iPlayer and paying files )mp4, avi, mkv etc.).

When playing Netflix/iPlayer CPU is under 30% and memory is around 950MB (I have 2GB) but playback is not totally smooth, close not not quite. I get a little stuttering and some horizontal slippage (lines where the image above line is slightly behind/ahead of image below).

I am thinking I need to upgrade my graphics card. does this make sense?

I looked on the net to try to work out if it is a PCI or PCEe slot but cant quite work it out. Which is it?

I also noticed you can put a riser in and did see a reference to a PCIe riser but all the ones I have seen are PCI, do PCIe ones exist?

So I am thinking maybe I can find a PCI card which would be better performance. I previously tried putting a DVI card in that was half height but it did not actually fit. What Half Height cards would fit and give me significantly better performance? I have seen talk of GT610 1GB, are these much better than inbuilt card and do they need a riser. There seem to be half height versions (will they fit)?

It is not a tower I can assure you of that, adding a discrete graphics card would not benefit your system, if it can supply the full 45 watts to the card. You would be wasting money on something that is no longer viable. Every component in that system is a limiting factor on some end. $60 dollars is not enough to buy a PC worth buying unless you need it to run older software.
Nonetheless you can try to add a gpu, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127689
The answer you want is not always the right answer.
