so I've had my i5 for a couple of years now, and I'm pretty convinced its bottle-necking the performance of my 770's in game, i get less than 60 fps on large multi-player games (bf4) and my heaven benchmark scores are far below other people with the same cards (but better cpu's)
now ive tried everything to overclock, sifted through as many guides as i could find, yet no matter what i do, when i look at my cpu it still says 3.4ghz, and the performance is the same....

please can someone help me to overclock this cpu, i've never really had much experience on the cpu side of things, so could you please be as simple as possible. any help would be GREATLY appreciated

No the cpu can't bottleneck your graphics card. It's not going to happen. It's way more likely that something in your system that is overheating or you're running windows and you've got malware. Not to mention that heaven benchmark is for benchmarking gpu's. Even a dual core shouldn't affect scores that much.
