what gpu is compatible with my motherboard?

It should work. Can you describe how it is "not working"? Such as an error, or BSOD, or anything to that accord? Nevermind. I just read up on a post. Apparently HPs have a BIOS that restricts graphics card upgrades. So you might have to upgrade your computer's motherboard. But here's the thing. If you upgrade to a nice CPU (i.e. i5 4690 or i7 4790) and good amount of high speed RAM, lets say 8 GB of Patriot Viper 2133 MHz, you will get really good integrated graphics that will come close to the 560 Ti.

when its in the gpu fans start up but i end up with a black sceen, im running windows 8 so the bios is diffent from older pc's but i cant get a picture to even get on to the setting to change anything if it has to do with that.

Its a business strategy so you cannot buy Graphics Cards that are cheap instead of the ones they have, and that slot is for something,like a good sound card or a TV tuner.
