Psu went bang and turned off

So I was sitting there playing far cry 4 and on Skype to my buddy. Then my PC just shut off and two big bangs and what I can see as a spark came from my Psu. I instantly thought oh well that's gone but it wasn't a big deal cause I was replacing my Psu anyway. But now I'm wondering could it have fried other components. Like is my hard drive and all data safe

So then that is defo dead. and is there a chance that i can salvage the rest. If not how can i get data off them

I just did thanks. Do u have any suggestions on a psu. I was thinking of the corsair hx1000i. And can I may take out the psu or will i shock things inside. Because when I plug a cable in or out of the psu there is a crackling sounds. Its really weird and extremely annoying
