Xps 420 X38 chipset cpu upgrade advice?

Hi looking to replace my Q8200 CPU with a Q9550 or Q9650, running a X38 chipset, is it as simple as swapping them and turning the PC back on as I have no clue in this area :(

You mayalready be at the latest version: A07
If not download the file and copy it to a DOS-bootable USB flash drive, then boot the system to the USB flash drive and run the program.

Bios Update

You may need these instructions to create a bootable flash drive
