First of all, hello everyone, this is my first time posting on Tom's Hardware. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

The problem I'm facing is constant buffering on Youtube whenever I use a device that is wired into my home router. The router is a D-Link DIR-655 with firmware version 2.11NA, the latest according to the router.

There is no problem with Netflix. I can download torrents, throttled to use about half of my Comcast cable connection, and watch Netflix at the same time at decent resolution. I don't experience slowness with anything else.

I've troubleshot this with 2 separate laptops. When they are wired, they buffer like mad while playing a youtube video. When they are on wireless, they play Youtube with no issues. Also, any cell phone plays youtube and netflix just fine.

Any ideas?

I checked the specs on your router, and it has Gigafast wired ports. This means that the wired connection should be faster than the wifi.

It may be that the Ethernet cable may not be good. I would swap that for another and see if things improve.
