Downgraded to Windows 7. Can't install drivers

I just installed Windows 7 on my HP Envy 15t-j100 laptop. My next step is to install the Windows 7 drivers. My problem is that I don't see a way of installing the drivers. None of my USB ports work. I don't have a CD/DVD drive. I cannot get the internet to connect wirelessly or with an Ethernet cord. Is there something I am missing here? I just don't see anyway I can get the drivers onto this laptop.

I originally installed windows 7 using an external cd/dvd drive that connected with a USB. The installation of windows 7 wiped all of the drivers, so now none of the 4 USB 2.0 ports will recognize any device.

There must have been an error in the installation if USB 2.0 ports don't work. If all of the USB ports are 3.0, they would need drivers but any USB 2.0 ports should work in Windows 7 right away (USB 2.0 drivers are built into the OS). That seems like a recent model of laptop which likely has USB 3 ports somewhere but most laptops still have USB 2 ports for compatibility.

It's worth a try to give an SD card a shot, if there's a slot. Online reviews I came across don't mention the little details like USB connectivity and card readers and such so I can't say what it has exactly.

Sadly, I did not have luck with the SD card. This laptop is a year old and surprisingly did not come with any USB 3.0 ports.
I may give in and take it to best buy or someplace and see if they can do something with it.... :(

I am not sure how I would do that. Originally I had connected an external CD/DVD drive and installed it with a windows 7 CD, but now that the USB ports don't work and can't run the CD again.

You were right, I got it to boot from the disk. The windows setup said I needed the CD/DVD driver. I have it on a USB, DVD, and a SD card but the computer wont read any of them. uuhhg

Hmm. There's something odd here. It seems strange that such a recent laptop wouldn't have USB3. The possibility that the laptop actually has exclusively USB3 ports would explain why they weren't working in Windows 7 but that raises the question of how Windows 7 was installed in the first place. On the other hand, healthy USB2 ports shouldn't cause the issues you have in detecting USB devices within Windows 7 and the driver error in trying to re-install.

In the event there were only USB3 ports I could think of exotic ways of getting drivers onto that drive which require resources you likely don't have at hand (essentially, take out the HDD, load it on another system as a secondary and transfer the driver installers onto that laptop's drive from the other PC, then restart the laptop and install the drivers)

Back in Windows 7, did you check the device manager to see what drivers you needed? It's possible that there was a wireless driver detected but the wifi was turned off, in which case it can likely be turned on using a hardware button or button on the keyboard somewhere.
