I got an alienware 18 for Christmas for myself, and since it was bought from ebay the seller wiped everything. So, I thought that was fine, and discovered that it only had 74gb of storage. The seller said on his ebay page that it had 1 tb HDD and 80 gb ssd but it was using the ssd as storage and a boot drive. I tried going into the bios and removing the little ssd, but it didn't work. So I have 2 questions how do I get rid of "Checking Media Files" before actually booting, and how do i use my HDD as mass storage? It dosnt show up when I press computer

For any used PC, your first action should be a full wipe and reinstall of the OS. Otherwise, you have no idea of how the previous owner had it configured, or what he left in there.

Open the case. What drives are physically in there? An 80GB SSD and a 1TB SSD?
OK. Install your OS on the SSD.

Right click. See what options it gives you.

After creating a new volume, either Format and give it a drive letter, or just give it a drive letter.

Set up the file system so the OS can use it.
After "New Simple Volume"....then what do you see?

First it is setting the size of the volume, then it is choosing a ntfs file and nameing the drive a letter, then it is format, or dont format
