It's doable but questionable whether you will see performance improvements over 2 x 8GB....even if it works.
What is that you are doing that will benefit from 32 GB ?
If you usee 32 GB, you do not want to buy 2 sets of 2 x GB....you want a single set of 4 x 8GB.
Mixing RAM from different sets is a crapshoot. Buy 2 sets of Corsair vengeance pro and they are NOT guaranteed to work together.
-2 x 8Gb id better than 4 x 4GB, presents less load on IMC and thereby can even limit CPU overclocks
-If you do try mixing, picking sets w/ same speed, same CAS timings, same vendor, same module supplier presents you with best shot at having it work.
-Even same vendor, same model is no guarantee.... Corsair Vengeance pro used Hynix modules up to version 4.51 after that they use a cheaper supplier.
making two sets work together may require loosening timings, dropping speed, lowering CPU overlcock, increasing voltage or a combination of those.
