What size PSU Do I need for my new build?

PCPartpicker says 455W, eXtreme says 465W. I was planning to go with a CX600 to be safe but do I really need that?

Its always better to be safe than sorry. You actually need more than you calculated, because at the startup components draw their maximum power and if the PSU cant give so much, the computer wont boot at all. Go for a bit more, always.

  2. As long as you get a good 600W PSU you'll be fine. You'll be fine with the Corsair one.

    Ok, thanks
I thought I might as well play it safe but thanks for the info.
  4. You dead set on those parts mate??
It looks like you're going red/black colour scheme.
    Is this massively important??
The spec 01 is not a good case IMO seriously - also that tx3 will not cope with a fx 8 core.
