WD 1TB Drive Not Being Recognized with Intel SSD in Windows 8.1

We just got done building a PC for my son and installed both an Intel SSD 120GB drive and a 1 TB Western Digital Black SATA Drive. We installed the OS on the SSD Intel Drive which is the "C" drive. The BIOS recognizes both drives. In Windows, both drives show up under Device Manager. But the WD 1TB SATA drive does not show up in Windows Explorer, nor does it give me the drive as an option when installing programs. When installing a program, I only get the "C" drive, which is the Intel SSD as an option. My goal is to install the OS only on the SSD and all programs on the 1 TB WD SATA Black Drive. Can someone please tell me how to get the 1 TB WD SATA drive to be recognized under Windows Explorer so I can install programs on that drive? Thank you very much. Brad T.

I assume that it is a new 1TB drive -- go into disk management and initialize the drive by clicking on it and selecting to initialize it with the wizard, then it will show up in Windows Explorer and can be formatted and used. You can also format it while you are in disk management after it is initialized.
