I am looking for a router for under $150-180 for my house. I currently have the dlink dir-655 router and its been a couple of years. Starting to have to reset it a couple times a month now. Also just not enough in my opinion for my home use. Here is what is being connected wifi, hard wire is not accessible due to router location and not wanting to deal with re-wiring house etc.. So everything is wifi, 1 roku, 2 laptops, 2 wifi dvd players, and 1 tablet. Mostly streaming videos, movies.

From what I have gathered I am looking for a dual band router, house is around 2,500 sq ft. There is walls, high level floor that router needs to be able to reach. Also don't know if this makes a big difference or not but I am looking into getting a NAS so I can stream movies to roku, etc..

So with that being said, new router and possibly powerlines, etc..

Please help me out.

2 story house, router is on lower level, at one corner of the house in a bedroom. Its there because that is where the cable plug in is located.

How is that router? I been trying to search about it and comparing other ac routers such as netgear, dlink, asus. I was leaning more towards the asus as reviews and how popular it is but at the same thing the bad reviews are making me second think about something else. Will look more into that router you suggested.

Hard to connect wires to the devices as most of the devices are upstairs and no cable plug in upstairs, older house so not much options. Would need to rewire the house. But that is also not really a needing options as don't plan to live in the house for more than the next 4-5 yrs.
