I recently bought new RAM for my Macbook Pro, it was
- Double Data Rate Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module (DDR3) format
- 67.6mm x 30mm (1.18 inch)
- x2 of 2GB
- 204-pin
- PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 MHz type RAM
(per Apple website)

Upgrading to
-x2 4GB
-DDR3
-PC3-10666

My issue: I switched out the RAM of the two old sticks to the two new sticks. When I did that, I turned on my Macbook and during the start up, it would just restart the system. After about 4 restarts, I turned it off and took out one of the 4GB sticks and replaced it with the old 2GB, leaving it at 6GB and it's currently working. What would the issue that would cause this? New sticks seem to not allow the computer to work, but 1 new and one old work.
