Can I use a reference cooler on my non-reference 7970?

I have a Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7970 Dual-X (100351SR). One of my dual x fans broke. But I have a reference cooler sitting around. Should I just order some dual x fans or try to use the reference? Will it even fit? Also will it overheat?

You're better off getting the dual-x fans as the reference cooler is not good at all. Just my personal opinion.

Okay, I will order the dual x fans. Are there any instructions on how to install it? They just screw on the shroud. But do you need to remove the shroud and heatsink to run the wires? Or do you just remove the shroud?

There isn't much difference if there's any at all, so get whatever is cheaper and you like the most. Have a good one. =)
