So for Christmas i got A new WINDFORCE GTX 970 G1 Gaming. I was a bit worried of my PSU (500) not being enough but was told by GeForce that it will work. I uninstalled my old AMD driver and its software and then proceeded to insert the new card. With Everything Connected i Booted up my computer. Everything worked perfectly. It loaded onto my Windows 7 Desktop screen. I then proceeded to Install the new cards driver software that came on a disk. With Everything installed i decided to see how far this baby would go. I downloaded 3DMark and excitingly ran the program. The Loading screen comes up, but suddenly my screen goes black. Displaying "NO SIGNAL" as my computer screen will do if there is no plugged in connection. It then came back with an error. Concerned i decided to try one of my games. I started up Dark Souls 2 and everything went well, even in the Iron Keep. I then decided to play a more Graphical intense game. I started up The Forest. This game used to lag on high settings on my old card. So i started the game, everything ran perfect. It wasent until i cranked the graphics on the game that it began to act funny. It flashed black for a moment and came back up. I then turnt everything on high and suddenly my screen went to NO SIGNAL. I waited to see if it came back but nothing happened. I could hear the game running but not see it. I could not do anything. I then restarted my computer, everything came up right. What is the problem? Could i be overloading my Card to the point it blacks out? Do i need a higher PSU and what would you recommend? And i do apologize for the wall of text but this does concern me?

Here is my Rig Setup
GPU: GeForce GTX 970
CPU: AMD FX(tm) - 4100 Quad-Core Processor
Memory: 8.00 GB RAM
Operation system: Windows 7 Home Premium
PSU: 500w
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2

Thanks for any help that is to come!

So i should look into A new CPU? I'm looking to actually buy parts (when i have the money) individually until i have everything and then to put in all together as a new computer. The CPU im looking at for my future build is an AMD FX-9590. Will this work?

My current power supply is a XTremeGear 500w ATX X6-P500
