Hi all,

I'm having troubles with my new machine, I have been able to successfully reach BIOS and install an operating system, however, when I attempt to install my graphic card (the MSI GTX 980) my screen remains black and the motherboards red led displays "62" and nothing else happens.

Is it possible i need to update my BIOS to support the graphics card?

Additionally, when I attempt to boot with the graphics card installed I still use the HDMI port on the motherboard not the graphics card.

I appreciate any help.

thank you very much for the reply though it wasn't the direct cause of my problem your post lead to discovering it. When I switched to using the graphics card HDMI port (like you suggested) the screen then displayed an error that I needed to ensure my PCI-E power cables were plugged in turns out the MSI GTX 980 is designed to use two power cables and I had missed one. Now im able to boot fine with the graphics card installed. Thank you.
