I have two document folders and I can't rename the other to become a Pictures folder (plus some more errors)

So I basically snatched the hard drive out of my old laptop that failed, formatted the drive, and decided to keep it for all my documents and pictures. However, in an attempt to move the location of the Pictures and Documents folders to that drive, BOTH FOLDERS have been renamed E:\. Can't rename either of those and the WEIRDER THING IS all of my pictures and documents have been copied onto both folders in that drive.

So in an attempt to recover the errors, I tried restoring to default location but now both folders have been named Documents and THEY HAVE NO FILES INSIDE!!
Yet my SSD boot drive from where the default location was indicates the EXACT SAME STORAGE so nothing got deleted. I found some of the files on the other HDD, but I really want to know how to revert everything as it was.

WHOEVER CAN FIX THIS PROBLEM I WILL THANK SO MUCH. THANKS A BUNCH.

Whilst you can copy the contents of Documents & Pictures to another drive as a backup, you should never move those two folders unless you do it through the appropriate dialog so that Windows can make the necessary path changes in the registry.

Have a look in the Recycle Bin. If no luck there, try some free file recovery software on the SSD:

When you've retrieved and backed them up to another drive (and also backed up all your other important files) run Factory Recovery or restore Windows from a backup image if you made one.

Ugh forget it these files are very important and I've decided to let it be as is because I am going to create extra partitions in the new hard drive I bought yesterday. I only have a bout 50 GB left on my SSD, and a whole terabyte on my HDD, so forget it...just going to have to do it the annoying way.

But thanks for the most part.
