I got the Zotac Nvidia Geforce Gtx 760 2Gb to replace my old graphics card. When I seat it in the PSI express and connect it to the power supply it stays on the Hp blue splash screen and after about 15-20 second it gives a short beep, this happens three times before it beeps quickly three times and the monitor goes to sleep. All fans start up when the computer is powered. I am wondering if my Pc is powerful enough for the card?

Specs:
-Intel® Core™ i5-2320 Processor 3.00GHz
- (Motherboard) Intel® H61 PCH
-8gb ram
-2TB Harddrive (Lots of room for any downloads that need to be done)
-Thermaltake Smart Series 850W power supply (12V)

Bios version is AMI v7.17
I dont see any Bios updates even though it was last updated 07/02/2012.

If my PC is powerful enough to use the card maybe it is a dud to begin with?

I dont see that being the case considering it is brand new.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Solution
Check for loose power connections. Make sure the card is in the x16 slot. Refer to the motherboard's manual if you are unsure which slot this is.
