I am switching from a gigabyte motherboard (I can remember witch one specifically) and i am upgrading to an asus maximums VII hero mother board. i am also switching from a amd FX - 6100 to an intel core i7. i am also getting a second hard drive to install windows to.

My question is if i install windows to my new hard drive do i need to wipe the old on considering im keeping it to put my games on and also will the drivers for the new board install to the new hard drive (The one im installing windows to) or the old one.

Also will the old drivers be an issue if they are left on the old hard drive if the new driver installed on the new hard drive?

(EDIT): I will be taking out the old hard drive and put the new on in to install windows and after all that is done put the old on back in.

Solution
It is better that, when installing an OS in a brand-new rig, to do a completely fresh install. Install only 1 drive into your rig before installing the OS, format it and use its automatic partitions. If you want to make new partitions, do it after the system is finished installing. After the OS is done installing, then install all your other SSD/HDD in.

Reinstalling an OS over what is already there, from my experience, has nothing but problems,
