Guys i got my new system 2 days ago and i am now testing for stress test and CPU (I7-4790K Haswell) go up to 100C temp

1st i downloaded Prime 95 version 28.5 and 26.6
with the 28.5 when i choose the Blend test the temp keeps going up till it reached 100C & when trying the small FFts test the computer shutdown and restarts immediately after starting the test .

with version 26.6 same but the FFts test continue with out restarting and temp reached 100C
N.B: i think it can reach more but when it reached 100C i stop the test (it taked 2 mins to reach 100C may be less)

2nd i noticed the computer some times restarts on its own ( happen 3 times ion the past 2 days ) that's why i decided to take the prime 95 tests

I am using the stock CPU fan that came with the CPU

My MB is GB z97 - UD5H BK

Plz help me

Solution
use those coolers listed on the coolermaster site as a reference for the ones u found, the bigger ones like the 105 and 110 corsairs should have radiator on top part of the case(top vent), place radiator on case first, then position the cooler on the cpu...check youtube for videos on how to install these coolers.
Just use 26.6. And only use it to test overclock stability. Don't just use it for fun.

To overclock, you need a custom cooler eg H100i.

The i7 4790k boost to 4.4GHz anyway. Max safe overclock isn't much more. I don't think it's worth overclocking. So no need to use Prime.

You don't need a liquid cooler though. My I5 4690k is OC'd to 4.7Ghz @ 1.28v with only a Hyper 212 air cooler on it and never exceeds 30c idle and 55c under load.

Even on a stock cooler it should be 40C max on dile and 60C max gaming. Sounds like the cooler isn't seated on the cpu properly. Did you use the thermal paste?

when i enable the XMP profile will that fix the heat problem ?
when i googled the problem people said to disable the XMP
excuse my ignorance about CPUs and memory, kindly explain

xmp enables ram to go faster, but it also makes your cpu go faster to keep up with it.
disabling will help reduce the speed..keep your ram set to 1333(base freq) and the cpu won't try to auto oc to keep up with the ram.
if that doesn't help, invest in a better cpu cooler, some ppl prefer custom air coolers that look bigger than 4 hds stacked, i prefer water cooler system like h100i(i have plain old h100) and a good thermal paste like arctic silver 7 or arctic nano diamond 7(my preferred flavor since i saw the improvement over the silver).

ok, my 3930k goes at around 4-4.2 ghz idle or running games..it stay below 40c all the time, i use corsair h100 water cooling system, arctic nano diamond 7 thermal paste, and my case fan is a 3-speed 20 inch box fan i bolted to the side of the case. no other case fans in the case except that one, rest of the air flow is directed over pwr supply, video card, cpu radiator and hds area(i taped up all other case vents to improve airflow over major areas only). 3 stage washable dust filter about 20inch by 25inch(20 usd each), and 1 hepa filter about same size which i replace every year but vacuum out every month, it is placed closest to the fan on the intake side.
