TL;DR- I need help upgrading my PC b/c I'm a n00b. I'm all about getting high framerate. Graphics I care ZERO for. $300-$400 if doable.

I really don't know how to match parts together real well. I'm not super-duper-pooper big on computers. I just want the best performance. I'm all about getting good frame rates. Performance > Graphics.

Don't laugh at my PC lol. It was my first time ever building one and I was on a strict budget because I didn't know whether or not I'd stick with PC gaming, so I didn't want to blow $1000 or anything. The part list says there are incompatibilities but its wrong lol. All these parts are working together. I've had this build for about a year now and am noticing it downgrading as the new games are coming.

If a $300-$400 upgrade budget is enough breathing room, I'd like to be in that range. I'm guessing I definitely need a new mobo and gpu.

NOTE THIS FOR VIEWING THE MY PARTS LIST:

1. I actually have two 8-gb RAM sticks, so I'm not bottlenecking it all into one

2. The GPU is slightly different, the ASUS one listed always sold out before I could buy it so I had to buy a Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7800 series.

IMO (not saying it's completely true) having a good, stronger CPU will help you maintain a higher framerate when you sacrifice graphical settings. With that GPU you should be getting decent FPS right now. What is the particular reason why you want to upgrade?

If you want to get the best out of the money without buying a lot (and selling) you would keep your everything and upgrade just your CPU and GPU. I would stay away from bulldozer FX chips so the highest CPU officially supported by your motherboard is a FX 8300. Then the rest of the money on the GPU.

Another choice is to make an intel build based off an i3/i5, with new motherboard. You could use the left over money to get a better GPU but I would keep the 7850 and see how an Intel CPU and 7850 performs for your taste.

Also from what I have read your powersupply may be on the weaker/lower quality side.

.:edit:.

I see why the website is giving an incompatibility error. Your motherboard does not officially support the FX 4350 processor. Only bulldozer variants and the FX 8300 is the only vishera based FX officially supported. But as the FX 4350 works then an FX 63XX and other FX 83XX should work (excluding the unnecessary FX 9XXX series)

Whether you are cpu or GPU limited will depend on the game and or the resolution. Most cases at 1080p GPU is the limiting factor, my FX 8350 is rarely strained except in Skyrim (yes I still play) and MMO's which can be highly CPU dependant. For reference my gpu is aHD 7870 @1100, and I can hit 60 fps at High to Max settings in "most" games.

I agree, I have a 860K paired with a 7850 1GB. Most modern games can run on high settings with average FPS in the 50-60 range (not playing on 1080P though).

To the OP, I understand framerates are more important to you than graphics. In this case what is your ideal FPS goal? 30+, 60+, 120+, etc. What monitor are you using and does it have a refresh rate higher than 60hz? If the refresh rate is only 60Hz I see little point in trying to achieve a super high FPS like in the 80+.
