Can I run DayZ Standalone?

Solution
Yes but no is the short answer.

The game itself is not in a good state, the game engine is poorly optimized and not very suited for the games intention.
I had the 270x and Dayz, it ran fine but I was getting very low fps, I also had the same processor as you.

I would not waste your money, do what I'm doing and wait for H1Z1 to come out: https://www.h1z1.com/home

Also look on Steam for a game called Miscreated if you like zombie games. Dayz is not really a stable game and probably won't be for a while or never, the game has been in development since 2013...

Hey thanks for a reply, I am going to wait untill H1Z1 comes out as that was a game I was already looking into.
Thanks,

I do blame myself for buying Dayz as I did not fully understand what state the game was in when I brought it. However yes 2013 is not very long for a game development, but they have not got very far since then.

Battlefield 4 is a better developed game, you should be able to run around 40-55 frames per second if you set your video settings to high. Also in battlefield 4 go in the test range first to change video settings around until you get a stable FPS that you can deal with.

You can also test your FPS in empty maps like Siege of Shanghai. Maps like those are more demanding than the test range. So even if you get 80 FPS in the test range, you might get no more than 55 fps on Siege of Shanghai.

Plus when you go into multiplayer mode, you tend to lose FPS if your system is not high end.
