So I'm facing this strange problem for a month now. If laptop is put to sleep mode or logged off, there is good chance that the home wifi will disappear from the list. It still detects other neighboring wifis but doesn't detect the home one. It detects it only when I change the SSID name.
This only happens with laptops, not with smartphones or other devices

Modem(+router) - TP Link TD-W8951ND
It is connected to PC through LAN cable. All the other devices (3-4smartphones and 2 laptops) are connected through wifi. Problem occurs with both laptops and none of the smartphone

Any got any idea on how to fix this ?

Solution
You may need to go into the device manager applet of control panel, open the properties for your wireless adapter and on the Power management tab uncheck "turn off this device to save power". Since other networks remain available, it's probably not the issue, but I'd start there. Power saving features can cause some very unusual results with laptops at times.

Make sure all devices are set to the same standard, and that encryption settings are not the problem, as seen here:

Check to see if there is a firmware update for the router from the OEM website.

Also, there is a setting in the Router interface settings as follows:

Also, there is a setting in the Router interface settings as follows:

Connection: For PPPoA/PPPoE connection, you can select Always on or Connect on-Demand or Connect Manually. Connect on demand is dependent on the traffic. If there is no traffic (or Idle) for a pre-specified period of time), the connection will tear down automatically. And once there is traffic send or receive, the connection will be automatically on.

I would set this to always on if it is on any other setting.
