I woke up this morning and turned my computer on, and there was no output to my monitor, It's been working fine for over a year, and this morning there was simply nothing.

With my headset on, I could hear the windows login theme, and I typed my passowrd and hit enter and i heard the computer log on, but still there is nothing on the screen.

I have had this problem before, and it was due to a problem with me having a device plugged into my USB3.0 ports without a driver installed, inplugging the USB device fixed the problem. I tried unplugging all USB's, so it was just a HDMI from the GPU and a power cable from the PSU and there was still no output... But the computer itself still boots up fine..

Does the monitor say "no signal" or have the typical amber no signal/standby LED? If yes, check your video card and connections. If it has the typical green "I'm working fine" LED, take a flashlight and shine it on your monitor. If you can see your normal desktop with the flashlight shining on your monitor, the backlight inverter died.

I know the problem isn't with the monitor; I'm currently using the same monitor with a shittier PC to post on this forum. It's very strange.

Did you try a different connection to the monitor than the HDMI? I've had HDMI's do all sorts of strange things, like work fine in everything except my TV, work for a while then turn green, etc. Try a different cable, too.

It's not the HDMI either. I just took my computer apart and fiddled wiht some of it's interior and found that the problem may have been that my TP-Link WLAN card was loose? I turned it back on and it's working now...

Thanks anyway
