Install new graphics card, switching from HDMI to ANALOGUE, both with a black screen.

I have a mid-range Asus PC with on-board graphics and I decided that I would purchase a new graphics card (Sapphire Radeon R7 250) to improve my gaming experience.

Although, when I installed the Graphics Card (turning on-board graphics off before I done so) I put both VGA and HDMI cables from my card's ports to my monitor's ports, resulting in me booting up my PC and receiving just a black screen with "HDMI" and "Analogue" at the top left of the screen, both with just a blank, black screen.

Can anyone help with this issue? - Am I plugging the VGA and HDMI cables into the correct ports or do I need to have both of them in?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Solution
are you sure that your PC is actually working? how big is your power supply? I'm suspecting that a pre-built big box system, with only built in graphics will have a very small PSU.

This could be the reason but I don't know. My PC is working fine when I take the graphics card out, but when I put in the system. no image a tall appears. I think my PSU is 350W

Thank you very much for all your help so far.

In BIOS for "Primary Video Device" and can choose either "IGFX Video" or "PCIE/PCI Video"

and for Intergrated Graphics I can choose either "Auto" or "Force"

It would be great if you could advise me which to choose

Also,
should I use the motherboard's or the Graphics card's VGA port?
Also the graphics card has a HDMI port and so does my monitor, should I use them?

Okay, I've done everything you said in the BIOS and then installed the GPU once again, using just the HDMI cable from the GPU port to the monitor and it's just a black screen. Is it the GPU that's faulty?
