Hey guys, im looking for a better CPU without having to change out my motherboard since im running on a budget here, and I have literally no clue of what CPU to look into that is better than my current one. My budget is £200 and here are my specs.

Board: ASRock K10N78M
Current CPU: 2.90 gigahertz AMD Athlon II X2 245
Power supply: 350W bequiet! pure power

So again, im trying to find a better CPU, since my antivirus software tells me that i use around 100% CPU when im just watching a twitch stream and it makes my computer really slow when i am doing something else on the side.

Thank you for your help!

PCI-e slots are backwards compatible, the RAM has to be changed but it won't be very expensive at all.

Anyway, an AMD FX 8350 processor + an ASUS M5A99FX Evo R2.0 should be right about your price. 8 GB of RAM may cost you around 50 or less more. 4 GB should be around 25. Look for something like G. Skill or Corsair, make sure it's at least 1600 MHz. If you would like me to try to make the budget fit into 200, that's fine too, I can see what I can do about that.

You might wanna upgrade your motherboard as well because it's pretty old and there are no new CPUs for it that you can buy, unless you find a used one. What's your budget? I'll try to put something together for you.

Yeah, my motherboard is pretty old but right now i dont think i can change it out. My budget is £200.
If I really have to change out my mother board as well then will you be able to help me find one? It also will have to be compatible with my graphics which is AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series and the current ram sticks DDR2-667 PC2-5300 Non-ECC
