Building my first PC, first power supply was dead on arrival. When I would turn the PSU on and push the power button, the lights of the GPU and motherboard would flash before going on. Tested the power supply with a paper clip, and the fan only twitched.

Got a new one today, tested it and it worked perfectly. Plugged everything in, push the power button and nothing seems to work. Plugged the 24 pin all the way in after some difficulty, everything seemed clicked in. The only indication that power gets to the motherboard is a small blue light that flashes for a split second after I click the PSU on. It's next to the words BAT1 and JBAT1 (included picture).

Also, when I press the power button, the lights in my room flash, so I think that indicates the PSU and case work. So what's the issue? Should I remove the GPU, some RAM? The motherboard stand offs look fine. Don't think the board's getting shorted out. The Mobo is up to date for the CPU.

Thanks alexoiu. I can get to the BIOs screen when building out of the case. So how do I prevent a short in the case? Is it a problem with the stand offs or the screws or the back panel?
