Can anybody recommend a good pair of sub $100 headphones

Solution
what do you listen to?
guitars - grado - such as sr80i
electronica - look for ultrasone
lots of bass - look for sony mdr xb series, 500 should duck under $100
everything - cal/cal2 or sennheiser hd 558

If you need a rugged pair of headphones with great sound quality, look into a pair of Audio Technica ATH m50s. They are closed back and are over the ear.

Pros: Good clarity, nice highs and mids, decent sub bass, durability, doesn't need an amp, good isolation, value.

Cons: High clamping force, pleather earpads, smaller soundstage.

Unfortunately the ath-m50s headphones are over budget ($30 over) the ath-m30x are in the same line and offer similar ruggedness and quality and there isn't any differance from his pros and cons, but they do not have a removable cord

HyperX Cloud headset is pretty good for $80-90.

I've heard a couple people say the Siberias have lower quality than they used to and have issues with the soldering on the speaker and mic on the left cup, but I do not know if this is a widespread issue or not.
