I recently purchased a TP-Link 300Mbs wireless N router. I am not having any problems connecting wirelessly with anything except my old Brother printer (which I love and really don't want to get rid of if I don't have too). My printer sees the wireless connection but after I put in the password it says...connection failed (error TS:04). It then prints out a page that says the authentication/encryption methods used by the selected WALN access point/router are not supported by your machine. Change authentication and encryption methods of the WLAN access point/router. It states my machine supports WPA which the router package says is uses too.

I know my printer is older..but I would love to keep it. Is there any way to connect the two wirelessy or do I simply need to go out and buy a new printer?

Any help would be appreciated!

According to the printer manual, it should be compatible with the WPA and WPA2 wireless protocols.

Check that your router is set for WPA2 with both AES+TKIP encryption enabled. If it's set for AES only, the printer may not work.

If that doesn't work, you may need to set your router to the WPA protocol if you want to connect the printer.
