Hi. I recently upgraded my pc to:
* MSi gaming 5 (z97) motherboard
* i7-4780k @4.4 ghz
* 24 gb ram (1600 mhz)
* Gtx 980
* 2x SSD 120gb - raid 0.

I was testing the speed in filtering a 5k image in photoshop. My laptop with i7-2620M@ 3 ghz and 8gb ram is almost TWICE AS FAST as my desktop pc.... HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN? I was looking forward for some amazing performance with my new pc..
:??: :fou:

Is that the only thing that it's faster in? Are you using integrated graphics on the laptop? I find that, in Passmark, the integrated graphics on my CPU (HD 4600) beat most discrete graphics cards (including my R9 280X) in image filtering for some reason (in the 2D graphics test). Probably has to do with the images being shared on the CPU cache, but I'm not sure.

I was just watching my task manager. The CPU clocks itself to around 4.3 ghz (~full speed) when applying the filters..
